The Mick Jagger Centre

The Mick Jagger Centre opened in 2000 with national and international publicity. The centre was opened by HRH the Duke of Kent, with Mick Jagger and his family also in attendance.

The centre itself proved to be a more ambitious scheme than what was originally imagined. It took many negotiations with architects, planners and the Arts council, plus a huge funding of £1.6m for the innovative scheme to be started.

2004 saw a further extension being added to the centre, which included the addition of a music technology suite, store room, visual arts suite, dance room and two further teaching and rehearsal areas.

The Mick Jagger Centre facilitates to all ages and abilities, from ballet classes for young children to belly dance classes for adults.

It has been quoted as the only arts centre in the borough and county to have such fantastic facilities, offering everything under one roof including a theatre, a venue to learn, a venue to hire and much more.
